Here’s a little bit about my writing background:
I studied at the University of Southern Maine, where I received a bachelor’s degree in media studies with a concentration in professional writing, graduating summa cum laude.
While at USM, I worked under Dr. Frank Carner, tutoring other students at the on-campus Learning Center. This included students from all programs, including people learning English as a second language. Often, the student was sent to the Learning Center by a professor who felt the student needed help on a paper to get a passing grade.
Over the years – both before and after USM – I’ve written and edited many newsletters, press releases, research papers, and foundation proposals and have written articles for publication, as well.
I also contribute frequently to the ESL forum UsingEnglish.com, helping ESL students with their English language studies. It’s my idea of a good time.
